ON THE ROAD FROM CRANBROOK TO OLIVER
Dawn Torgerson at Cranbrook Home Hardware Building Centre suggested that we surprise Kim and Rob Schepers at the soft opening of their new store in Creston, British Columbia.
Kim and Rob were delighted to have our wrapped motorhome parked right outside the front door of their new store.

We met Terry Smith the Home Hardware Area Manager.

Nelson, our publicist, arranged an interview with the Grand Forks Gazette Weekender. We were passing through the Grand Forks area en route to Oliver, British Columbia. The interview and photo opportunity took place at the Grand Forks Home Hardware Store. We met owners Marty and Karen Boisvenue and the Mayor of Grand Forks.

We pulled over for a rest stop and took photos at beautiful Christina Lake.

Driving up and down and around the mountains, with many steep grades and run-off roads for heavy trucks, was a challenge. The towed car pushed the motorhome as hard as it could going down the mountains but the big motorhome's brakes did not fail us or force us to use the emergency lanes. We were thankful for the exhaust brake to help hold us down to the speed limit.

The longest, switchback road was Anarchist Hill into Osoyoos.

Roger and Ruth stop to look at the view of Osoyoos, British Columbia.

Our home for the next three nights was Oliver, about equal distance between our events in Penticton and Osoyoos.

June 17 began with early morning phone interviews on Penticton's Morning Man Radio and with the Chilliwack Progress Newspaper. The rest of the day was spent working on the blog and catching up with email as we took advantage of the strong WiFi signal in the Desert Gem RV Resort. Wireless high speed Internet is a wonderful thing when it works.
