100 MILE HOUSE, BRITISH COLUMBIA

"The Wolf" - Larry Rode interviewed us on CKBX.

When we were leaving the studio, Allan Riley came over from his bakery to take our photo because he heard our interview and could relate to our story about working long hours seven days a week when we owned restaurants.

The Century Home Hardware store event was outside under a big tent.

It was a perfect setting. A large tent was set up beside the motorhome to shelter the audience from rain and sun. There was lots of sun and no rain.

Owners Pam and Harley Petersen held a great event with three gift baskets to go along with the blender and countertop oven raffle. The food was also spectacular. There were several choices of finger foods from our cookbooks. K.D. baked cupcakes and a cake with the Home Hardware logo.

This was a lot of work and kept her up very late. Staff members, Thelma and Helen helped to pass the food.

Pam and Harley's children, Alyssa, Katlin, and Kevin Petersen helped sell raffle tickets and cookbooks and pitched in wherever else they were needed.

Lamont's friend, Val came to the event and we put her in charge of the video camera.

We presented a cheque for $50 to add to the raffle for charity with the money going to the 100 Mile House Chemotherapy Program.

See Pam waving from behind the steering wheel of the motorhome? We couldn't persuade her to take the bus for a spin because their delivery from the Home Hardware warehouse arrived just as our event came to an end.

The Home Hardware truck drivers are really great guys.

Brian Anderson helped us add coolant to our radiator.

Like every place we have been, 100 Mile House was difficult to leave.

However, we had places to be. So, after the event, we headed down the road to Quesnel where Annie Gallant was waiting to interview us at Wills Harper Home Hardware.
We met owners Bruce and Marvin and manager Marissa Holley.
