It's an early start tomorrow morning. The motorhome will be pulling into Bayfront Park in Hamilton for six segments on Morning Live, CHCH TV with Lesley Stewart. After that we are driving up the 401 and 400 to United Lumber Home Hardware in Barrie for our first On The Road 2008 event.
On Friday morning we drive to City TV in Toronto to appear on Breakfast Television. From past experience we know our 40-foot motorhome will just fit through the gate of their back parking lot - providing traffic on Queen Street is patient as we make the turn.
After Breakfast Television, we are off to Waterloo to prepare for our second store event at Elmira Home Hardware on Saturday afternoon.
The motorhome is washed. The wheels are shining. Mark's Choice hose nozzle did a great job. And Natura Cleaner took the bugs and stubborn spots off our faces on the front hood.
Our First Two Events
Wow! It's hard to believe that it's almost May 1.
After months of planning, our first On the Road 2008 event is almost here. We are so excited.
May 1, 2008 - 7 to 9 PM - Barrie, Ontario
United Lumber Home Hardware
We will help them raise money for a local charity - Season's Centre for Grieving Children.
May 3, 2008 - 2 to 4 PM - Elmira, Ontario
Elmira Home Hardware
We will help them raise money for the Waterloo Women's Crisis Centre.
At each event we will be demonstrating recipes using small kitchen appliances and also signing our cookbooks.
We hope to see you at these two events. We're taking the wrapped motorhome.

Hectic at the Test Kitchen
It's hectic here at the test kitchen. Fed Ex and Purolator trucks are arriving with new products for us to put to the test. Passers by are stopping in the middle of the road to take a good look at the wrapped motorhome. Emails are flying through cyberspace as we send more updates to the event stores. Our promo video is now available on our website and will soon be running in event stores in preparation for our arrival. Our publicist is booking us for television interviews. Home Hardware and Home Hardware Building Centre dealers are sending us descriptions of our upcoming events in their stores. Big things are planned with proceeds going to local charities.
IT'S A WRAP
ON THE ROAD 2008 - THE BEGINNING
THE MOTORHOME IS READY FOR A NEW LOOK
We took our 40-foot motorhome to the wrap place and had to back it into a 38-foot garage. It took awhile but we squeezed it in on an angle. Like we always say, "All we need is an inch" to get in or out of a situation.
If we find that inch again and are able to get out, we are off on a 14,000-km adventure from Ontario to British Columbia and back. We will attend events at 30 Home Hardware stores along the way. Stay tuned. It's bound to get interesting.
